Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Scholarship Program

The Scholarship aims to assist academically outstanding but disadvantaged students, from a rural or regional area, that have been offered a full-time place at an Australian university. The scholarship value is approximately $5,000 (per annum) to assist with the cost of accommodation and other expenses directly related to study (eg. course costs, study related materials/equipment, text books, tutoring).

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be from a rural or regional location;
  • be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident;
  • be commencing a first year undergraduate course in the coming semester (first attendance at an Australian university);
  • be studying full-time (all study must take place in Australia);
  • have graduated from secondary school in either this year or last year (i.e. with a gap year);
  • be able to demonstrate your disadvantage which is preventing further study; and
  • be able to demonstrate your outstanding academic achievement and extensive community involvement.

Selection criteria

Scholarships will be awarded on the recommendation of a selection committee and will be assessed on academic achievement, demonstrated disadvantage and community contribution.

The committee will determine the value of the scholarship, however based on previous years the value has been approximately $5,000 (per annum).
