ECU Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarship

The ECU Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarships are intended to assist Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students with the costs associated with University study. Applications are sought from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students from low socio-economic backgrounds who may also be dealing with difficulties such as a disability or ongoing illness, significant caring responsibilities, or relocation from rural or regional areas. ECU Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarships are valued at $3000 per year for each full-time year (or pro rata) of a student's undergraduate course at ECU.

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
  • be suffering from financial hardship; and
  • as a current student have maintained an academic status of good standing at the end of each semester (as defined in the ECU handbook).

Selection criteria

Selection will be based on demonstrated need and personal circumstances.

Applicants are required to complete the Application Form (either hard copy, or electronic) and associated documentation and email to scholarships@ecu.edu.au.

You will need to provide evidence of meeting the eligibility criteria.
