Eveline Rosina Henty Scholarship

The Eveline Rosina Henty Scholarship was established to enable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to pursue full time studies in an approved course at any university or college of advanced education in Australia. Scholarship selection is based on financial need, academic merit and other related factors. Payments for this scholarship can be up to $5,000 depending on available funds and needs of the recipient.

Eligibility guidelines

In order to be eligible, you must:

  • be a student of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; and
  • be enrolled/enrolling in full time study at any Western Australian University.

Note: Students who are on federal or state cadetships or who are sponsored by government departments or organisations will not be considered.

Selection criteria

Selection is based on:

  • your need for financial assistance;
  • your academic merit; and
  • rankings provided by the Aboriginal centre of the relevant university.

How to apply

ECU students apply for this scholarship through UWA. As the scholarship is administered by UWA, all queries relating to application, eligibility, selection and payments should be directed to UWA - please see contact details below.

You will need to include the following with your application:

  • should be typed or written in BLOCK LETTERS;
  • attach an original or certified copy of your qualifications, academic records or results (all original documents submitted will be returned);
  • you should also attach copies of your ABSTUDY or other income verifying your income for the year; and
  • answer ALL questions AND also ensure that you answered the two statements required.

About the scholarship

The late Eveline Rosina Glyde having left to The University of Western Australia the balance of the residuary trust fund created by her will to use the income from it to establish and maintain scholarships for Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to support them during tertiary studies.
