Norman Archibald Percussion Scholarship

The Norman Archibald Percussion Scholarship was established in 2015 to support meritorious classical percussion students enrolled in WAAPA's Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Music Honours course. The scholarship will provide financial support to students who demonstrate excellence in classical percussion thanks to the generosity of the donor Mr Neil Archibald.The scholarship offers a once off payment of $2,000 to the successful applicant.

Eligibility guidelines

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen;
  • be enrolled in WAAPA's Bachelor of Music Course (W76 or L66 )or Bachelor of Music Honours (K35) and be a Classical Performance major;
  • have and maintain an academic progression status of GREEN; and
  • be studying full-time, minimum of 60cp per semester.

How to apply

Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates.

Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words describing how their personal circumstances would benefit from   receiving of this scholarship.

Selection process

Eligible applications will be assessed by a Selection Committee.

Selection will be based on:

  • personal statement; and
  • demonstrated excellence in classical percussion as determined in performance exam marks in first to fourth year, or entrance audition marks.
