The Pinnacle Foundation Scholarships

The Pinnacle Foundation provides educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities for young LGBTIQ+ Australians to realise their full potential and overcome challenges arising from their identity. Scholarships are awarded for full-time study at public institutions of higher education in Australia, for the purpose of gaining an educational or vocational qualification in any profession, trade, or the arts.

At a glance

This scholarship is open to individuals who are future and current ECU students.

Scholars receive between $5,000 and $7,000 in their first year of study as a Pinnacle scholar and between $4,000 and $5,000 in subsequent years. Subject to continuing to meet the requirements, Pinnacle Foundation scholarships are multi-year and designed to support scholars to complete their qualification

Eligibility guidelines

Scholarships are open to LGBTIQ+ Australians who meet the criteria detailed below:

  • Australian citizen or permanent resident (proof required during application stage)
  • At least 18 years of age and younger than 27 years of age on 20 January in each year for which the scholarship is sought
  • Have achieved good or reasonable scholastic results given your circumstances
  • Will be undertaking full-time studies
  • Identify as a member of the LGBTIQ+ community.

The Pinnacle Foundation are running an online application information session for aspiring scholars and those working with young LGBTIQ+ Australians on Saturday 31 July at 3.00pm AEST.

The information session will cover tips and advice when applying for a Pinnacle scholarship, what they look for, and how to create an application that will stand out.

The session will be hosted by Laura Cripps, a Pinnacle alumnus who is now member of Pinnacle's Victorian Committee and who has been involved in the scholar selection process for some years.
