Research Master Degree Scholarship

Open to an outstanding student to undertake a Master by Research degree in the Social Justice Research Centre. The Centre conducts research with a focus on social justice, social inclusion, wellbeing and criminal justice response to family violence. The Master's research project will be supervised by academic staff of the Social Justice Research Centre.

Preference will be given to applicants who are prepared to develop their research in one of the Centre's strategic areas, social inclusion, community wellbeing, youth, ageing or criminal justice response to family violence.

Eligibility requirements

Eligibility criteria:

  • Academic merit, first class honours or equivalent
  • Research experience
  • Special consideration will be given to equivalent professional experience

  • HDR - Higher degree research (including Masters by Research)

Applicant information:

Written expressions of interest, together with the application form must consist of the following;

  • a covering letter addressed to Professor S. Caroline Taylor, Foundation Chair in Social Justice, Social Justice Research Centre including your contact address, email and day-time telephone number. It is an opportunity in not more than one page to introduce yourself and highlight the key reasons for your interest in the scholarship
  • a title and statement of not more than 500 words describing your proposed research project
  • a curriculum vitae that includes; academic qualifications and educational history; employment history and research experience in chronological order, specifying name of employer, dates of employment, position and main duties or accountabilities and achievements; information regarding membership of professional associations, prizes awarded and any other relevant data; details of publications; details of unpublished reports of work; the names and contact details of two academic referees and forward an academic referee report to the Research Scholarships Officer
  • attach copies of qualifications, transcripts, Australian birth certificate, residency or citizenship
