Annual Equity Scholarship
The new Annual Equity Scholarships are intended to assist future and current undergraduate students from designated equity groups, with the costs associated with University study.
Applications are sought from students from low income families, Indigenous Australians, people with a disability or ongoing illness, people with significant caring responsibilities and those from rural or regional area of Australia.
Application opening date: 23 January 2013
Application closing date: 7 March 2013
Method of application: Application is made via the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. Access to the portal is available between application opening and closing dates via this web page
Payments
Amount: Up to $3000 for full time enrolment (or pro rata for part time - minimum of 30 credit points). See Information for Applicants and Recipients of the Annual Equity Scholarship
Frequency: 2 payments one in each semester of up to $1500 (or pro rata for part time - minimum of 30 credit points)
Method: Electronic funds transfer
Eligibility requirements
Eligibility criteria:
ECU Students from designated equity groups including but not limited to:
- Low socio economic background
- Indigenous Australian students
- Students from rural, regional or remote areas of Australia who have relocated for the purpose of study
- Students with a registered disability or ongoing medical condition/illness
- Students with carer responsibilities
- Single parents

- Australian Permanent Humanitarian visa holders
- Australian Permanent Resident visa holders

- UG - Undergraduate Bachelor Courses

Applicant information:
Applicants will need to provide evidence of meeting the eligibility criteria.
The scholarship is offered for one year only and previous recipients are eligible to reapply each year the scholarship is available unless they are in receipt of another scholarship which prohibits applying for these scholarships.
Selection:
Selection will be based on demonstrated need and assessment of personal circumstances.
