ChemCentre Indigenous Scholarship

Applications are invited from eligible ECU students to apply for the ChemCentre Indigenous Scholarship for 2013.

The ChemCentre Indigenous Scholarship has been established to assist and encourage Indigenous students to undertake an undergraduate degree course in Science (majoring in Chemistry, particularly Analytical Chemistry).

Payments

Amount: $5,000 (for full time study - pro rata for part time) per semester
Frequency: Duration of course
Method: Electronic funds transfer


Eligibility requirements

Eligibility criteria:

  • Indigenous - Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Enrolled in an Undergraduate Science degree (majoring in chemistry, particularly Analytical chemistry)
  • Financial Hardship
  • Academic achievement and potential
  • Achievements, abilities, leadership and community service
  • NOT be in receipt of any other scholarships
  • with the exception of those in receipt of any Commonwealth Scholarships (CAS and /or CECS) or the Student Start Up or Relocation Scholarships through Centrelink

Level of study:

  • UG - Undergraduate bachelor course

Year of study:

  • Any

Faculty:

  • Computing, Health and Science

School:

  • School of Natural Sciences

Course

  • ECU Bachelor of Science (majority in Chemistry, particularly Analytical Chemistry)

Study mode:

  • Any

Applicant information:

Applicants will be required to provide a written statement (of no more than 500 words) which includes their personal information about the following:

  • Reasons for choosing to study a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry at ECU
  • Academic achievements to date and any community, sporting or cultural achievements
  • Future goals
  • Any experience within their chosen field
  • How they will benefit from this scholarship in the future
