ECU Vice Chancellor's Indigenous Australian Scholarship

The ECU Vice Chancellor's Indigenous Australian Scholarship was established to provide financial support for Indigenous Australians. The scholarship funds are payable each semester, until the completion of a Bachelor's degree at ECU. Applicants are asked to demonstrate leadership and contribution within the Indigenous and/or university community.

Application opening date: 30 January 2013
Application closing date: 27 February 2013
Method of application: Application form will be available to download from this web page between application opening and closing dates


Payments

Amount: $5000 per year for full-time enrolment (pro rata for part time - minimum 30 credit points)
Frequency: $2500 (or pro rata) payment made each semester after census date (max 7 semester payments)
Method:
Electronic funds transfer


Eligibility requirements

Eligibility criteria:

  • Indigenous - Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Have completed a minimum of 120 credit points towards your Bachelor's degree at the time of application
  • Community and/or University leadership and contribution
  • Not be in receipt of any other significant scholarships (excluding Commonwealth scholarships)
  • Be able to demonstrate successful achievement in prior studies

Selection:

  • Selection will be based on academic merit, demonstrated leadership and contribution to the Indigenous and University communities. Short-listed candidates may be invited for an interview prior to final selection
