Work on a real project before you even graduate
Want to be ‘job-ready’ when you graduate? Want to apply your skills and experience in a real workplace, on a real project? Don’t know where to start? Read on!
If you’re a self-motivated and dedicated student, take the opportunity to gain work experience while you study, through the Faculty of Business and Law’s new work integrated learning unit: FBL3501 Business Practicum.
You’ll get the chance to develop a real business project with a public, private, or not-for-profit organisation, and build up a broad range of work-related skills that will help you to be ‘job-ready’ when you graduate.
You will be introduced to the employment process, and a professional work environment. You will see leadership in practice, and learn how to collaborate and work effectively in a team. You will also improve your networking skills, and start to develop effective business relationships.
The comprehensive placement will run over the period of one semester, with students expected to complete a minimum of 100 hours’ work on their projects. Some of the work may occur in the workplace, but also on campus, and wherever appropriate to fulfil the needs of the project.
The first intake for FBL3501 Business Practicum will be in Semester Two, 2012.
More information
Acceptance into FBL3501 Business Practicum is by invitation only. Please note students will also only be admitted to the unit if they have completed 180 credit points of their qualification.
