FINSIA Mini Olympics Team
On Friday, 23 April 2010, a team of students from the School of Accounting, Finance and Economics participated in the annual Mini Olympics organised by the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA). The ECU team competed against teams from KMPG and Bankwest, as well as other large organisations from within industry.
The team competed in a variety of sporting events including netball, volleyball, basketball, floorball and soccer, which culminated in a sports quiz to conclude the evening.
“The event was great fun and as we had not trained, it was a fantastic team building activity” said student participant Darcy Johnstone.
This is the third year ECU has entered the Mini Olympics, being the only university to participate. The team took out the wooden spoon, though were able to network and speak to influential individuals from the financial services industry.
