Youth Work

Placement is an opportunity for students to learn, develop and extend the skills required to practice as a professional youth worker. Students are required as part of the Youth Work course to undertake a 400-hour professional placement. This is an opportunity for students to apply knowledge so far learned in the course by linking theory with practice within the sector. Placements are completed at two days per week minimum.Students will undertake professional placement in the field with preferably a youth work qualified supervisor.

Students must demonstrate in their placements that they can demonstrate each of the placement unit learning domains by providing evidence of this learning in the final portfolio assessment.

For more information on the Bachelor of Youth Work, please refer to the Course Handbook.
