You are invited to The West Australian ECU Lecture Series event for September 2017.
Resilience is a word we use and hear about almost every day. The word is used within different contexts and therefore can often mean many things. In this presentation School of Arts and Humanities Associate Dean, Professor Pooley, will discuss what resilience is within the context of Psychology and how the concept relates to personal trauma and growth and community disasters and terrorist attacks. Understanding resilience as a social ecological construct enables us to understand the importance of a person’s situation and context and the connection to the broader community. Therefore Professor Pooley presents a number of different resilience research related studies that assist us in understanding and exploring the resilience phenomena.
The lecture will be followed by a Q&A discussion and networking session. Light refreshments will be provided.
