Australian Awards Fellowship (AAP) - Round 14 - The HIV Mentoring, Leadership and Skills Development Program

Associate Professor Trevor Cullen was successful in applying for an Australian awards fellowship with the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM), the peak group for HIV, viral hepatitis and sexual health in Australia. Part of the project involves Professor Cullen organising and running several workshops on Working with the Media for 180 HIV leaders from 38 countries. The aim is to enhance their public HIV leadership and advocacy role by engaging in a more skillful and confident way with a wider range of media in their home countries. The workshops will take place before and after the World AIDS Congress in Melbourne in July 2014, when more than 15,000 participants will attend. Part of the Fellowship involves writing a detailed report and at least one research article with ASHM for the International Journal of Sexual Health. A special "media kit" will also be prepared and published for the participants.
