The School of Business and Law’s 2017 Prize Ceremony was held on April 4 at Frasers in Kings Park, to celebrate the School’s top achieving students in 2017.

There were 54 incredible award winners including Renee Ann Whisson who won the School of Business and Law Medal and also the University Medal and Junru Zhang, winner of the School of Business and Law Research Medal.

The Awards were sponsored by 38 local and national companies including the Australian Marketing Institute, Department of Communities, Graduate Management Association of Australia Inc., Oxford University Press, RAC, Seven West Media, Thompson Reuters and West Coast Eagles.

Winner of the LexisNexis Prize for Legal Writing and Research, Naomi Graetz praised ECU’s online Law program.

“I would like to thank Edith Cowan University for having such a wonderful online study program. I live in South Australia and online study is my only option due to my work and family commitments. Without it I would not be able to have received this award, or indeed study.”

“It is thanks to Edith Cowan University that I will be able to fulfil my dream of practising law in the future. I would like to pass on my thanks to all my lecturers and tutors, I have thoroughly enjoyed each unit and look forward to the beginning of semester.”

Winner of the Landgate Property Law Prize, Loriane Fulton also received a framed historical map from the Landgate collection valued at $1000.

The Ceremony was attended by the Executive Dean of the School of Business and Law, Professor Maryam Omari, as well as over 165 attendees including academic staff, sponsors, prize winners and their families.
