The 8th Council of International Students Australia (CISA) National Conference was held in Cairns, Queensland from the 25 - 27 June.
School of Business and Law PhD Candidate, Kourosh Esfandiar, was invited to attend the conference by StudyPerth through a scholarship and take part in one of the panels about international students’ experiences in Western Australia.
CISA is the national peak student representative organisation for international students studying at the postgraduate, undergraduate, private college, TAFE, ELICOS and foundation level within Australia, and represents 700,000 international students studying in Australia.
In the panel, Kourosh talked about why he chose to come to Perth and study at ECU.
"I explained why I am happy with ECU and my supervisors. I also talked about my challenges and what I have done to become part of a cultural community in Perth, and discussed why this is very important for an international student," Mr Esfandiar said.
"I found my experience of attending the CISA rewarding and was also very happy about being ECU’s ambassador at the conference.
"This conference made me motivated to maintain this connection and hope I can have my own contributions to the CISA, StudyPerth and ECU someday."
