Dr Benxiang Zeng

Background

Dr Benxiang Zeng holds a PhD in International Tourism Management from University of Queensland, Australia. Dr Zeng is currently a Senior Research Fellow at Northern Institute at Charles Darwin University (CDU). He is based in Alice Springs, The Northern Territory, Australia. He currently serves as a member of CDU China Reference Group, and a member of CDU LEBA Faculty Board.
Dr Zeng is a multidisciplinary researcher. Since 1989, he has been doing research and/or research management in social and economic policy focusing on industry economics, tourism management, community participation, and regional development field. He has a strong research focus and interest in socio-cultural and economic impacts of industries such as tourism and services on local communities in Australia and China. Prior to his current position, he worked for the Chinese Academy of Science, Chinese National Committee for Man and the Biosphere Programme under UNESCO, and The Northern Territory Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sport.
Dr Zeng has been involved in many research projects. He has also had extensive experience in research project management. He supervises postgraduate students studying tourism economics, regional economic development and sustainability. Dr Zeng has published scholarly papers in high quality academic journals.
