Dr. Catheryn Khoo-Lattimore

Background

Dr Catheryn Khoo-Lattimore has started and sold businesses for profit and has experienced consulting for institutions and organisations. She holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Otago, New Zealand and has worked in Malaysia and the United States. Catheryn speaks at many academic and industry conferences and events and her work has been featured by travel sites, radio and newspapers.

Catheryn is Editor-in-Chief of Tourism Management Perspectives and serves on the editorial boards of several other tourism and hospitality journals. She is also co-editor for the Springer series, Perspectives of Asian Tourism. She is Second Vice-Chair of The Council for Australasian Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE). She is also the founder and chair of Women Academics in Tourism (WAiT), and dreams of the day when our tourism academy will become a level playing field for all.

Research interests

Catheryn’s current research interest is on tourist and guest behaviour, with a passionate focus on women, families and young children. She is also particularly interested in understanding these segments from an Asian perspective, and how their travel experience and behaviours differ cross-culturally.
