Work-Integrated learning outcomes in Western Australia

Working together to achieve better Work-Integrated Learning outcomes in WA: Improving productivity through more effective employer capacity.

This project will develop and trial effective approaches that will increase employers understanding of, and engagement in, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placements in Business School Faculties in Western Australian Universities.

Focusing on the role of the employer, the aim of the project is to improve WIL outcomes for students, universities and employers. More definitively, this project will:

  • explore approaches to better engage with employers to offer placements;
  • determine effective support requirements for employers to improve placement outcomes; and
  • measure the impacts that these approaches have on WIL outcomes for students, universities and employers.

Research methods

  • Two quantitative surveys of employer perceptions, combined with focus group sessions.
