Dr Peiyi Ding

Background

Dr Peiyi Ding is the Deputy Director of Tourism Confucius Institute at Griffith University in Australia which is the first and only Confucius Institute with an emphasis on tourism in the world. Dr Ding received his BSc degree from Xinjiang University and MSc degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences in China, and his PhD from the University of New England in Australia. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences at The University of Melbourne, and a Post-Doctoral Fellow from the University of Queensland. Before joining the Griffith University in 2012, Dr. Ding was the Senior Research Officer and Program Director (China) at the School of Tourism of The University of Queensland. He has published extensively in tourism areas including books, book chapters, international conference presentations and papers in academic tourism journals. Dr Ding has served as a guest editor for the journal of Current Issues in Tourism on Special Issues for China Tourism Research. He is the Editorial Member of the Current Issues in Asian Tourism, a regular companion to the journal Current Issues in Tourism, and an Academic Board Member of Tourism Tribune and the Editorial Member of Tourism Sciences.  Dr Ding is also among the Members of Expert Committee of the World Tourism Cities Federation.
