It’s the WA Screen Academies’ night of nights; an evening to celebrate the extraordinary talents of the class of 2012. This year’s graduation show, titled Reversals, was held at Luna Cinemas in Leederville in front of a packed house of close to 450 guests. Showcasing six short films produced in-house under Director John Rapsey and Associate Director Andrew Lewis, the audience had their emotions tested as they embarked on a journey spanning the genres. Now recognised both nationally and internationally, the night represented perfectly the collaboration between the WA Screen Academy and the WAAPA Acting, Production & Design and Music Composition programs. This collaboration resulted in well over 100 students being involved in the films.
With high-profile sponsors including Sony, Universal Studio, ABC, The City of Perth, X-press, WTV, MRGTV, Digipix, Location Equipment and Storyteller, it’s little wonder why the WA Screen Academy - within ECU’s School of Communication and Arts - is now producing some of the nations best film talents.
