occupy nothing

Wednesday, 18 July 2012

'occupy nothing', by Melbourne based artist Kieran Stewart, will take the form of a large scale inflatable sculpture occupying the main gallery within Spectrum Project Space. As an architectural intervention the work will temporarily change the exhibition environment influencing and impacting on audience movement for the duration of the exhibition.

This hand-made and labour-intensive sculpture continues a long-standing interest in repetitive labour, effort and the process of creating and making, several themes that have pervaded throughout Stewarts arts practice over the last seven years.

As a part of the exhibition, Kieran will be running inflatable art workshops. These will take place on 12 and 13 July, the cost is $35 and all materials are included. For more information and bookings please email Spectrum Project Space.

To listen to an interview about the exhibition please visit the Youth News website.

'occupy nothing' runs from July 5 until July 21 at Spectrum Project Space.
