After Standards: The Future of History
Since 2010 the Australian Learning and Teaching Council has funded the After Standards: The Future of History project, which is hosted by the University of New South Wales. A key initiative of the project is engaging international best practice History standards to inform curriculum renewal. ECU has been represented at the national discussions by Dr Leigh Straw, who works closely with the national project team to implement standards for the teaching of History at Australian universities. This project has included national workshops held in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, with the final workshop in Darwin scheduled for November 2012. The conclusions of this national process will inform the implementation of TEQSA standards and requirements in History and throughout the Arts and Humanities.
