'Perth 1' is a solo exhibition by Igor Mihajlovic, exploring his experiences of diaspora as a migrant moving from Bosnia to Perth, Western Australia. Mihajlovic draws directly from migrant stories, memories and experiences and uses collage as an expression of hybrid cultural identity often experienced by migrants.
For Mihajlovic, collage became an effective method of expressing these memories and experiences as the archive of imagery constructed and placed together effectively expresses a disparate and pastiche map of his life.
'Perth 1' runs from Thursday 5 July until Saturday 21 July at Spectrum Project Space.
