"I worked with the WA police to create software that will have real community benefits."
I was really impressed with the number of computing labs and the 24/7 accessibility at ECU. Not only did they provide me with all the resources I needed to succeed at university, the atmosphere allowed me to make great friends and enjoy my study. I didn’t expect to be able to work for real clients during my time at uni, so was surprised when I was given the opportunity to develop software for the WA Police Air Wing. We developed a mobile phone app that could assist police in search and rescue missions. We were able to work with them on the design and then able to test the app in the field using the Police helicopter. The experience and recognition has been invaluable.
