Speaker profiles
Cam Nicholl
Cam is a director of the Digital Accessibility Centre, based in the UK. Cam has worked in the accessibility field for 9 years and is a highly professional, motivated, innovative individual, whose passion for accessibility is widely acknowledged and respected in the field.
Cam has built solid working relationships with many large organisations in both the corporate and public sectors in the UK. Cam has also been working from a global platform, servicing sales from the United States, Australia, France and Belgium.
Cam has a good practical knowledge of assistive software and their application to the Web in addition to sound knowledge of relevant legislation, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and other international legislation surrounding accessibility.
Mark Rogers
Mark Rogers, is CEO and co-founder of PowerMapper Software. A graduate of The University of Dundee, his first job was porting hypertext software from MacOS 1.0 to Windows 1.0. That led to R&D on networked hypertext and multimedia systems for Panasonic. Since 1997 he’s worked on the products sold by PowerMapper Software.
Shadi Abou-Zahra
Shadi Abou-Zahra works with the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) as Activity Lead of the WAI International Program Office, which includes groups that are responsible for education and outreach, coordination with research, general discussion on web accessibility, coordination with the WAI Technical Activity, and WAI liaisons with other organizations including standards organizations and disability groups. Shadi coordinates WAI outreach in Europe, accessibility evaluation techniques, and international standards promotion and harmonization activities. He is the scientific coordinator of the WAI-ACT Project (IST 287725), chairs the Evaluation and Repair Tools Working Group (ERT WG), is the staff contact of the Research and Development Working Group (RDWG), and participates in the Education and Outreach Working Group (EOWG). Shadi previously also participated as key staff in the WAI-AGE Project (IST 035015) and WAI-TIES Project (IST 038471).
