Congratulations to two of our School of Education and CREC staff members who have been appointed to the new WA School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA).

Education Senior Lecturer Dr. Lennie Barblett, has been appointed to the WA Board of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority and Associate Professor Dr. Caroline Barratt-Pugh has been appointed to the Curriculum and Assessment Committee by the Hon Peter Collier WA Minister for Education, Energy; Indigenous Affairs.

The WA School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) has responsibility for the development of curriculum and assessment in all schools across WA. As part of this responsibility SCSA will establish standards and ways of reporting on these standards for all WA students from Kindergarten to Year 12. These tasks are undertaken through extensive consultation with the broader education community. In terms of early childhood the integration of the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum make this an exciting time to be involved in SCSA. Lennie and Caroline will strive to ensure that the views of the early childhood community are well represented.
