Congratulations to ECU students Adam Hand and Scott Tapper, winners of the 2012 Vice- Chancellor’s Student Awards.
Run each year, the awards recognise and reward the outstanding achievements of individual students or student teams under two categories; outstanding contribution to student life at ECU and outstanding engagement with external communities.
Winners in each category receive $5000.
Adam won the Engagement Category for his role in establishing the ECU Engineers without Borders Club. He also does extensive work in community outreach programs that inspire high-school students to study engineering.
Winner in the Contribution to University Life category Scott Tapper received the award for his leadership of Network Teach, a volunteer program for ECU student teachers that provides peer-to-peer support.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Kerry Cox congratulated the students on their win and commended them for embodying the University values of integrity, respect, rational inquiry and personal excellence.
