ECU is proud to be a key sponsor of the 2018 STEM Learning Conference, which takes place on Sunday, 16 - Monday, 17 September at Crown Convention Centre.
The conference is pitched at teachers and educators who specialise in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects.
A core component of the conference is the ECU STEM Learning Conference Dinner, which takes place on the evening of Monday, 17 September.
ECU’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Steve Chapman will address the dinner, which will serve as an opportunity for participants to network and engage with industry professionals.
WA Chief Scientist Professor Peter Klinken will then lead a panel discussion based on questions raised during the two-day conference.
ECU’s involvement as a sponsor reflects ECU’s key position in training the STEM educators of the next generation through its renowned School of Education.
This year’s conference is themed around the “how to” of teaching STEM subjects in the classroom, and aims to provide teachers and school leaders with ideas to help them implement their school’s STEM initiatives.
The 2018 STEM Learning Conference is organised by the STEM Consortium, which comprises the Science Teachers’ Association of Western Australia (STAWA), The Mathematical Association of Western Australia (MAWA), the Educational Computing Association of Western Australia Inc. (ECAWA) and Scitech.
