About

The Centre for Higher Education Teaching and Learning Research encourages and supports a community of scholarship of teaching and learning at ECU.

We aim to enhance research informed teaching, and improve opportunities for postgraduate research, publication and research grant income.

We also encourage peer support for action research, research into learning and teaching, and the scholarship of teaching, through a cross-faculty community of practice.

Our objectives are to:

  • support and encourage scholarship and research into teaching and learning that will provide evidence to inform enhancements to teaching and learning in ECU’s courses;
  • create a community of scholars and postgraduate research students who engage in Higher Education (HE) and Teaching and Learning (T&L) research that will enhance dialogue and research collaboration across ECU faculties;
  • increase Higher Degree Research (HDR) completions, publications and research grant income in HE T&L research for a sustainable research culture at ECU; and
  • conduct research and scholarship that enhances the engagement of ECU’s teaching and research with the professions and the broader community.
