CSaLT staff lead national conference in 2012

Every two years the Australian Council for Computers in Education (ACCE) holds a national conference with one of the state affiliates – in 2012 it is the turn for Western Australia. The host organisation is the Educational Computing Association of WA (ECAWA) with the Director of CSaLT, Paul Newhouse, being the Program Chair, the Associate Director, Jeremy Pagram, being coordinator of the reviewing of papers, supported by Martin Cooper. The focus will be on using Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) in education, particularly in schools. There will be keynote speakers, paper presentations, workshops, poster sessions, school visits, a trade display and other events to meet the needs of most.

The conference will provide opportunities for school leaders, teachers, tertiary students, teacher educators and researchers to share knowledge and experience in the use of new technologies to support learning. There will be keynote speakers, paper presentations, workshops, poster sessions, school visits, a trade display and other events to meet the needs of most.
The conference will be aimed at Australasian and South-East Asian educators. The conference will be preceded by a forum on 'School Leadership and ICT'. Opportunities will be provided to visit or tour interesting places and facilities in and around Perth such as golf courses, sailing, wineries, a casino, beaches, science centres, and national parks.
The conference theme is ITS Time (Information Technology in Schools Time). The conference will examine the diverse ways that ICT can maximize each student's potential through their personal learning styles. It will investigate how ICT can allow all people including those with diverse skills and thinking strategies become lifelong creative learners.
