Office of Learning and Teaching Grants

The Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT) offers a prestigious grant program to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in higher education, to facilitate innovation and collaboration and to disseminate best practice. The OLT’s funding program is designed for academic and professional staff to undertake research and scholarship into teaching and learning, and to promote systemic change in the education sector.

The Australian Government OLT grants are now competitive research grants and contribute to Category 1 income in determining an institution's Research Infrastructure Block Grant entitlement. The grants not only play an important role in searching for new modes of teaching and learning, but also in promoting collaboration between universities and educational providers and in acknowledging the value of the scholarship of teaching and learning.

The Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) in conjunction with the Centre for Higher Education Learning and Teaching Research (CHELTR) manage the development and submission of all completed applications. These are prepared through a developmental process with assistance from the OLT Development Advisors.
