Aboriginal Girls in STEAM

This project uses the visual arts as a vehicle to build community between girls in a low socioeconomic secondary school and to improve the girls’ engagement in STEAM. This case study project will focus on Girrawheen Senior High School, specifically in redeveloping their Follow the Dream centre for girls who identify as having an Aboriginal background, as the boys at the school are part of the Clontarf Academy program. The Principal has noted some fractures in the school, and wishes to use the redevelopment of the Follow the Dream space to encourage a sense of community.
