The Fogarty Learning Centre is funded by the Fogarty Foundation and ECU to:
- conduct research into the effective teaching of all students, with a particular focus on language and literacy;
- conduct research that will narrow the achievement gap for students in low SES schools;
- provide professional development in the areas of literacy and numeracy teaching;
- provide clinical teaching experiences in literacy and numeracy as part of our undergraduate teacher education programs.
Projects
Recognised as one of our major research strengths, research into language and literacy is a primary focus at the Fogarty Learning Centre.
By participating in various research projects and productive partnerships through our engagement with the education community, we provide our research staff and students an opportunity to part take in and investigate the effects of literacy and numeracy programs.
