Advanced technologies for leading teaching and education practice

The Institute hosts this major collaborative research network (CRN) project funded by the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE). The aim of the project, valued at almost one million dollars, is to develop advanced video methodologies for researching classroom practice Sophisticated video and audio capture of teaching and learning behaviour combined with computer based analysis will be developed and used to investigate the relationships between teacher behaviour, student engagement in learning, and learning outcomes for improved teacher effectiveness. Key project partners include Deakin University, the University of Melbourne, Roseworth Primary School and Ashdale Secondary College.
