Enhancing classroom discourse in primary science

This project researched the impact of a professional learning program on teachers’ beliefs, knowledge and practice for managing a discourse of inquiry in primary science lessons. The project identified important discourse moves that enhance classroom discourse and the exploration of children’s ideas. The research was supported by funding from the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia and the Department of Education, and an ECU Industry Collaboration grant.
