NNTTF was established in 2002 as a Major National Research Facility under a Federal Research Program initiative. It was build upon an existing Research Infrastructure Equipment and Facilities scheme (RIEF) funded project based at ECU.
In 2003, the Western Australian State Government contributed $1.5 million towards the development of the NNTTF. The then Premier of Western Australia the Hon Geoff Gallop officially inaugurated the NNTTF in March 2003.
Griffith University is one of the six national NNTTF nodes operating from Queensland.
La Trobe University is one of the six national NNTTF nodes operating from Victoria. Professor Jack Singh is the main contact at the Fusion centre of La Trobe University Technology Park.
The University of Adelaide is one of the six national NNTTF nodes operating from South Australia. Associate Professor Michael Liebelt from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is the main contact for the NNTTF in South Australia.
The University of Sydney is one of the six national NNTTF nodes operating from New South Wales. Dr Andre van Shaik from the School of Electrical and Information engineering is the main contact for the NNTTF in New South Wales.
The University of Western Australia is one of the six national NNTTF nodes operating from Western Australia. Associate Professor Farid Boussaid is the main contact at UWA for the NNTTF.
Victoria University is one of the six national NNTTF nodes operating from Victoria. Associate Professor Aladin Zayegh is the main contact at VU for the NNTTF.
