Performance of compression ignition engines

Heavy duty compression ignition engines find widespread application in power generation in addition to other applications such as maritime propulsion. Pollutant formation and efficiency are important considerations in these engines which drives new technologies to improve performance based on gaseous fuel supplementation and cogeneration (to increase efficiency). This project investigated the range of parameters affecting compression ignition engine performance.
