An investigation of thermal effects in a fixed-bed biomass combustor

Direct thermal processing of solid biomass fuels can be achieved through combustion. The performance of fixed-bed biomass combustor when operated on (solid) pellet fuels is also likely to be affected by thermal effects which arise within, and external to the rig. This PhD project looks at some of these factors including the role which heat transfer has on overall performance.
