Background

Prior to returning to University study in 2009, Danya was employed with the Department of Corrective Services as a Senior Youth Justice Officer working within the Perth Children’s Court and the Perth Children’s Court Drug Court.

In conjunction with the Office of Crime Prevention, she was a Senior Project Officer responsible for the roll-out of a WA State Graffiti Strategy intervention within the metropolitan Juvenile Justice Teams. This intervention was aimed at promoting pro-social behaviours and reducing graffiti-related crime in young people.

Danya has also held positions with the Drug and Alcohol Office and non-government agencies working with both adults and young people at risk of drug-related harm.

Staff qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Supporting Major in Justice Studies;
  • Juris Doctor (currently studying).
