The age of first cannabis use
In partnership with WA Police, the purpose of this research is to identify, review and critically consider existing data and literature examining age of first use of cannabis in WA.
This process will achieve the following outcomes:
- The identification of sources of data that lend themselves to age-related analyses
- The identification of trends in age of initiation in WA
- A comparison of trends in age of initiation in WA to those reported nationally and internationally
- Consideration of the risk factors and the harms (including crime) associated with early onset
- A series of recommendations for further research where gaps are evident in the existing body of knowledge.
