Fostering individual innovation

Despite evidence of the importance of individual innovation, there are still significant gaps in society’s understanding of the nature of individual innovation, how individual innovation is fostered, and the resulting impacts of individual innovation.

This project explores multiple perspectives to provide a more integrated approach to examining individual innovation. The project seeks to advance knowledge in the area of individual innovation by examining factors across multiple levels of analysis including society, organisation, team, and individual factors. We also consider other perspectives including the impact of education and information technology.

This project will explore the initiatives or strategies for fostering individual innovation.

The findings of this research will:

  • Identify factors that encourage or inhibit individual innovation. 
  • Examine the relationship between individual innovation and firm performance.
  • Define organisational strategies to encourage individual innovation.

  • How is individual innovation fostered or constrained?
  • What are the resulting impacts of individual innovation?
  • What strategies can organisations design for individual innovation?
