Broadband adoption in the mid West region of WA

This research focuses on the Mid West region of Western Australia and aims to understand the inhibitors and facilitators for the adoption of broadband by stakeholders in the region.

The National Broadband Network (NBN), also known as NBNCo, is a proposed Fibre to the Home (FTTH) network to be built and operated by the Australian Government.

It will be an Open Access Network providing download speeds of 100 Megabits per second to 90% of Australian homes and businesses. The network will be built as a public private partnership and overseen by the Mid West Development Commission.

A second stage of this project is planned where support strategies will be developed to enhance the take-up of commercial and social use.
