Professor Ross Dowling is to give a keynote presentation at the Grand Opening for The Trail of Time exhibition.

Professor Ross Dowling from the School of Marketing, Tourism and Leisure has recently embarked on a trip to the United States of America, where he will be a Keynote Speaker for the Grand Opening of The Trail of Time at the Grand Canyon.

Held from 13 – 15 October 2010, the event will unveil The Trail of Time; the world’s largest geosciences exhibition.

“It is a fully accessible interpretive walking timeline trail located between Grand Canyon Village and Yavapai Geology Museum,” said Professor Dowling.

“The trail utilises the unique vistas and rocks at the Grand Canyon to help visitors ponder, explore, and understand the magnitude of geologic time and the stories encoded by the Grand Canyon rocks and landscapes”.

Professor Dowling was invited by Mr Steve Martin, Superintendant of the Grand Canyon, and he will be the only international presenter in attendance.

Considered a world leader in geotourism, Professor Dowling will be speaking on the power of geological tourism and introducing geotourism to the Grand Canyon.
