Do you want to stand out from the competition when you graduate? How about developing your industry knowledge and gaining relevant practical skills? An international experience like the Asia-Pacific Connection Study Tour might just be for you.
In this three week study tour, ECU students will get the chance to meet and study alongside students from the USA, and will enjoy presentations by internationally acclaimed speakers, various industry site visits and exclusive tours of key businesses in Perth and Singapore. Students will spend two weeks in Perth, and one week in Singapore, during the 2011 inter-semester break, from Monday 27 June to Friday 15 July.
The tour will feature speakers from the US Chamber of Commerce, US Consulate and Austrade. Site visits will include Fremantle Port Authority, Austal Ships Fremantle, Changi Airport, Singapore Port Authority, Singapore Stock Exchange and Marina Development Singapore. Students can also look forward to excursions to Yanchep National Park, wineries in the Swan Valley, Sentosa Resort Singapore and a night safari at Singapore Zoo.
Second, third, and fourth year undergraduate and postgraduate students in Good Academic Standing and with a course average of 65% or greater are invited to apply. Applicants must also have a passport valid for more than six months and be able to obtain a valid visa for travel to Singapore.
ECU credit may also be available for the study tour, with the approval from relevant Unit and Course Co-ordinators for each student. If approved, the tour will be credited through the following ECU units:
- INB3700 International Business Study Tour (undergraduate)
- INB5702 International Business Study Tour (postgraduate)

Cost
The tour will cost $2,090. This includes accommodation in Singapore, airport transfers, site visits and some meals, excursions and transport costs in Perth and Singapore. It does not include return Perth-Singapore airfare or applicable ECU unit fees.
A student subsidy of $500 is available to study tour participants (conditions apply).
