Dr Sue Colyer

Background
Sue began her career as a Physical Education teacher and worked in Melbourne, London and Canada. In Vancouver, she joined the YWCA, conducting fitness and mother and child activities. On return to Australia, Sue came to Perth and joined the YMCA, introducing women's programs in city and suburban branches. In 1974, she was amongst the first Recreation Officers seconded to local government by the Community Recreation Council (now Department of Sport and Recreation). Subsequently, Sue spent 12 years managing local government recreation services. In 1987, she took a lecturing position with ECU and retired from her formal position in January 2007.
