Background
In 2012, Olan took up a full-time position as lecturer in sport management in the School of Marketing, Tourism, and Leisure. Prior to his employment at ECU, Olan worked full-time at the University of Ballarat as a lecturer in sport management and he has also taught sessionally at several institutions since 2006.

Research interest
- Olan's research interests are in the intersection of sport and the media. In particular, the sport/media complex and mediated marketing messages during sport telecasts.
