The aim of this project is to improve health professionals’ knowledge in assessment and management of patients with hepatitis C and hepatitis B; and to improve access to treatment for patients with hepatitis B and C.
This project was funded by the Department of Health, WA Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Program.
Two free online training programs have been developed for health professionals to improve their knowledge of hepatitis C and hepatitis B. Both online programs have been approved for professional development by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the Royal College of Nursing, Australia and the Australian College of Ambulance Professionals. The online training materials are regularly maintained and content is updated as required.
Hepatitis C online training was launched on 20 March, 2009 and the hepatitis B online training was launched on 8 September, 2010.
These training programs can be accessed on our Hepatitis Education Project web pages.
