Paramedic assessment and referral to access MEDical care at home (PARAMED Home)

This project was funded by the State Health Research Advisory Council Research Translation Projects to test home care options for patients. It is a joint project between ECU, The University of Western Australia, St John Ambulance and Silver Chain Nursing Association.

Our aim is to reduce emergency department attendance and hospital admittance while maintaining patient outcomes and improving patient choice to receive care in the community.

This research will facilitate and evaluate the option of home care following paramedic assessment and referral, by linking paramedic services provided by St John Ambulance Australia (WA) Inc. to the new Western Australian Government funded Home Hospital service provided by Silver Chain Nursing Association.
