AOD presentations in ED

Etza Peers

Etza Peers is a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Alcohol and Drug Service) at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth. Her primary role is to help care for patients who are in withdrawal from a variety of drugs (Alcohol, Benzodiazepines, Amphetamines, Opioids (including prescription opioids) and Cannabis. A typical day includes;

  • Supporting staff when there are complex patients on wards/departments
  • Assessment for counselling, detoxification, rehabilitation post discharge
  • Education and training in AOD for all staff

She works with all specialties excluding palliative care.
